About us
Women in Finance brings like-minded women together to empower and support them in their journey. We provide a home for women to discuss their own experiences of working in finance, to network with each other, build business relationships and convince a new generation that there is no limit to their success.
Our history
Women in Finance was created in 2021. We know that for many women networking is harder than for their male counterparts and becomes increasingly difficult for those with families. We help women meet each other both for focused content sessions and informally over sports events.
Since our launch, we have begun to orient ourselves towards bridging one of the main gap that women face when networking; engaging in conversations about sports. The myth that only men are qualified to talk about sport is one that we are keen to dispel. Events now occur quarterly that give women the change to play sports at iconic locations such as Lord’s Cricket Ground, with the goal of breaking down some of the barriers women have in their workplace.
We have grown to over 1000 members; launched our monthly podcast and hold frequent events in London and are considering expanding to other cities like New York.
Our mission
We want to create a strong community of women across financial services for them to connect, collaborate and succeed in their roles. We want to be part of a change that leads to women feeling empowered and in-charge of their careers across the industry
Research shows that one reason women are under-represented in senior positions is they do not see other women in senior positions. There is a lack of female role models in the industry and with this initiative we want to fix that.
The Women in Finance network celebrates the successful women in our industry and holds them up as beacons for us all to follow.
Our Work
Through our regular podcast, social events and active community, we aim to build the confidence of women across the world to thrive in a career in finance.
Our recently launched podcast dives into the careers of inspirational women. You can see our latest interview, with Phoenix Group CCO Michela Bariletti, below.
